Abstract

Synovial sarcomas are well described entities. They belong to a broader group of tumours known as soft tissue sarcomas and have a propensity for the lower limb. Subtalar arthroscopy is an evolving procedure, with many disease processes still to be described via this medium. We present a case report of a synovial sarcoma involving the subtalar joint, discovered during arthroscopy. Unfamiliar or unexpected lesions should always be biopsied so that important disease processes are not missed.
